Gateway Mobile Home Community is appropriately named as
it is indeed the entrance way and short freeway minutes to downtown Corpus
Christi, as well as to schools, shopping, and the many recreational
opportunities available in this part of Texas. The park’s location is near to
South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and other Freeways makes transportation easier
and more affordable whether driving for pleasure or en route to your

Beyond location, the park itself is a small oasis with many
trees, unusual in this part of the state.

Founded in 1969 by a prominent citizen of Corpus Christi the
park covers 50 acres of which 30 acres

are fully developed with 240 lots. It is worth noting that
these lots are quite large, probably the largest lots available in the entire
area.  Which in turn creates a more
comfortable feel to the park and enhances privacy for our residents.  Although it is close to everything, there is
no other housing close to the park. This fact and the open area owned by the
park (some of it partially wooded) creates a rural feel to the community.

Gateway’s amenities include concrete curbed roads, large
recreation building with a separate office structure and an adjacent laundry
facility, a fenced swimming pool and a kiddie pool. In short it is a full
service park.

While primarily a family park, Gateway has a small community
of senior citizens who are active

participants in park activities and who have organized their
own social club meeting for breakfast weekly. .

On festive occasions the park organizes well attended pot
luck parties as well as special events for the younger residents at Halloween
and Christmas.

One separate edge of the park is devoted to long term RVs
which is the fastest growing aspect of our

park businesses.  However,
we have a limited amount of spaces which fill up rapidly.

Our view of management is that we are a resource to our
residents and our goal is to help everyone in the park have the best possible experience as a
member of our community.
